8/12/11, 7pm, Wasilla Senior Center. You will receive a graduation certificate listing out all the classes you attended in order to help YOU, the students, build your resumes and/or help you with scholarships and grants for your future careers! **Be sure to request that our partners on this website list out all your classes on your graduation certificate!
After graduation services are over, lets celebrate! RSVP for only $15 per plate at the buffet.

BLU'S PURPOSE:
BLU is giving it's first summer program a trial start this year, 2011, for teens and young adults, ages 13 – 25. Our goal is to be the organizers, managers, and hands-on-workers of a wonderful process in which like-minded friends and organizations in the Mat-Su Community are coming together to help provide our young people in the Valley with hope and excitement for a successful future as they embark on their transition into adult life. BLU seeks resources already available in the Mat-Su Valley through willing volunteers and other proven reliable organizations who desire to join in the vision of empowering or improving the young people in our community and beyond, keeping our nation strong, one life at a time.
At BLU, we are a husband and wife team of volunteers who just simply have a heart for teenagers & young adults, and a desire to make a dramatically positive impact that they can take with them into adulthood, and throughout their lives. It's our desire to provide the tools already available in our community that many of us older generations wish we had when we were young adults & teenagers which will help better prepare them for adulthood. We are volunteers who want to celebrate such a critical time in life when young people are trying to mature from the teenager stage into full adulthood. In the BLU summer programs, we'll show them how to begin to embrace adult life to their greatest advantage, and have as smooth of a transition as possible into some of the challenges that full grown adults have to focus on every day.

We are always seeking more organizations in the Mat-Su Valley to partner with in addition to the list below, by adding more websites onto our website, so we can provide more resources to young adults, and future generations to come. Join us in our vision, by giving us permission to include your website address, and contact information on this website for young adults and their parents to access.

A NOTE TO PARENTS:
We've heard parents tell us that they wouldn't want to send their first timer teenager to learn directly from a car salesman how to buy a car, and no one wants to learn how to handle investments into their future through their own mistakes, or buy a house the hard way without a knowledgeable adviser. Yet, for some unknown reason, these all important subjects get missed, UN-intentionally. Back in the day when we were teenagers, many of us didn't learn all that much more about daily responsibilities of adulthood than how to balance a checking account, and yet, there are so many more opportunities out there than that, thanks to this awesome country we have the privilege of living in. The reality is, soo many of our youth need this information NOW, because some of them don't continue with their education after high school, and need more than what we're giving them before they graduate, in order to become successful adults. It's time to make a positive change in teaching our youth what the challenges of adulthood are really like, by going beyond balancing the checkbook, and learning more about what's available to them in this awesome nation we live in. When they are empowered with the know-how they need for the rest of their lives, and future generations to come, this will give them an opportunity to show us that there really are young adults in our society who are mature enough to handle more responsibility than our culture currently gives them.
